Blights were plants that had been tainted with evil, usually after a forest was corrupted by an evil force. They resembled dead versions of their original plants. The first blights were spawned when the vampire Gulthias was stabbed with a stake. The stake turned into a sapling which grew into a tree. This tree released seeds from which the first blights emerged.

In the shadows of a forest, needle blights might be taken at a distance for shuffling, hunched humanoids. Up close, these creatures reveal themselves as horrid plants whose conifer-like needles grow across their bodies in quivering clumps. A needle blight lashes out with these needles or launches them as an aerial assault that can punch through armor and flesh.

Twig blights were the smallest type of blights, resembling humanoid, leafless shrubs, complete with limbs and a head. They could root themselves in soil, becoming indistinguishable from regular, dead shrubs. Groups of rooted twig blights could resemble piles of firewood or debris. Twig blights were very dry, causing them to be especially susceptible to fire.
